FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State men’s basketball team struggled to get into an offensive rhythm and eventually fell to Mary Washington, 70-35, Saturday.

The Bobcats (7-11, 2-7) were able to keep it close inside the first five minutes of action. However, FSU then went cold and was held without a point over the next 10 minutes while UMW collected a 14-0 run for a 24-5 lead with 5:15 showing in the first.
Frostburg ended the drought at 4:41 with a layup, but the Eagles (12-5, 6-3) pushed their lead to above 20 points and led by 25, 34-9, at halftime.
The second half didn’t provide any relief as Mary Washington held its lead above 20 points for the entire half. UMW slowly extended its lead over the final 10 minutes of play. The Eagles captured a 30-point edge, 59-29, with 6:22 left in regulation and further extended their lead to 37 points, 68-31, before winning by 35.
FSU (7-11, 2-7) was held to season lows in points (35), field goal percentage (21.8) and baskets (12). Senior Mhabhshah Koffa (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) led Frostburg with 14 points while junior
Bradley Nunn (Ft. Washington, Md. /Riverdale Baptist) added nine.
Mary Washington, which shot 43.1 percent (25-of-58), from the floor, was led by Mike Harvey with 12 points. Bradley Riester and Ryan Farrar each added 11.
Frostburg continues CAC play as it hosts York (Pa.) on Wednesday at 8:00 pm.
