GIBSONIA, Pa. — Frostburg State junior
Britton Quayle (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park (Anne Arnudel CC)) earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week honor for the week of May 3, Monday afternoon for his second weekly award of the season.
Quayle helped the Bobcats to a 3-2 week and clinch the top seed in the AMCC tournament while improving to 8-0 on the season. The righthander earned his first win of the week over Mt. Aloysius throwing 2.0 innings to close out the 7-6 win. He finished the week tossing 6.1 strong innings against Penn State Behrend, holding the Lions scoreless giving up just four hits and striking out four. Quayle did not give up an earned run over his two games of work and holds a team-leading 2.32 ERA this season to help FSU to an AMCC-leading ERA of 5.0.
Frostburg State returns to the field Tuesday, May 4 as it hosts No. 21 Washington & Jefferson .
