Ogg's Career-High Leads Men's Basketball to 85-75 Win over Pitt-Greensburg

FROSTBURG, Md. - Junior Steven Ogg (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) poured in a career-high 26 points to lead the Frostburg State men's basketball team to an 85-75 victory over Pitt-Greensburg, Wednesday.

FSU (14-8, 11-7) avenged an earlier season loss to UPG (11-13, 9-10) behind a season-high 57.1 percent (28-of-49) shooting from the floor. Frostburg also poured in a season-high 26 free throws and forced 26 turnovers.

Frostburg State held several double-digit leads in the second half and broke open a close four-point game with a quick 7-0 spurt for an 11-point lead (77-66) with just 3:39 to play. FSU was a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line in the final 1:09 to keep UPB from mounting a charge.

Ogg finished 10-of-13 (76.9%) from the field, 4-for-4 from the foul line and two 3-pointers. Junior Brian Anderson (Perry Hall, Md./Eastern Tech) added 19 points, four steals and four assists and was a perfect 9-of-9 at the foul line. Junior Busha Koffa (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) rounded out the three starters in double figures with 17 points.

Darnell Hampton led Pitt-Greensburg with 21 points and four 3-pointers. David Palmer chipped in 19 points followed by Josh Kucenic with 15.

Frostburg State used a 19-7 run over the middle part of the first half to take control after the game went back-and-forth for the first seven minutes. Koffa hit a 3-pointer at the 1:00 mark that gave FSU its largest lead of the first (43-29) before leading by 10 (43-33) at the break.
