BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior
Brittany James (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) posted her fourth double-double of the season and the Frostburg State women’s basketball team had three players score in double figures as it defeated D’Youville 69-55 for its first win of 2010, Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats improved to 9-2 overall and remained perfect at 6-0 in AMCC play. FSU has outscored all six conference opponents by 11 or more points this season.
FSU trailed the Spartans (0-10, 0-7) through the first five minutes of the opening half of play, but James hit a pair of free throws with 3:31 left to give the visitors an eight-point lead (25-17). The Bobcats later led by just three, 28-25, at the half.
Frostburg State took its first double-digit lead of the game, 3:35 into the second half. James grabbed an offensive rebound and made the put back as the Bobcats led 38-27. FSU kept its lead over 10 points the rest of the way and the Bobcats cruised to their largest lead of the game with 36 seconds showing on the clock when sophomore
Makeda Peterson (Landover, Md./Fairmont Heights) hit a jumper to give the Bobcats a 69-49 lead.
Frostburg State held a 49-39 rebounding edge and turned 25 offensive boards into 27 second chance points. The Bobcats also scored 27 points off 26 D’Youville turnovers.

Caryn Wright (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) added 14 points and eight rebounds and freshman
Jackie Kimmel (Berlin, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley) rounded out the three starters in double figures with 12 points and a pair of three-pointers.
Melissa Kanalley led all players with 24 points for D’Youville while Holly Beats added 12 points and nine boards.
FSU returns to the floor on Wednesday, Jan. 6 when it hosts Franciscan at 6:00 pm.
