GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Frostburg State men's basketball team dropped its second-straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game to Pitt-Greensburg, 78-74, Wednesday evening.

Frostburg State (8-4, 5-3) took control of the game early going on a six-point run to open the first half off a three-pointer by junior
Brian Anderson (Perry Hall, Md./Eastern Tech), 6-0. Pitt-Greensburg (6-7, 4-4) would chip away at FSU's early lead scoring four-straight though Frostburg State would hold the lead until with 17:08 left in the first half, when UPG took the lead, 12-10, for the first time.
UPG held the lead until junior
Terrance Taylor (Oxon Hill, Md./Cornerstone Christian) hit a layup at 12:44 to re-take the advantage for FSU. The lead would change hands twice in a matter of 30 seconds after a quick layup by David Palmer of UPG and then a three-pointer from senior
Nick Sefcik (Shady Grove, Md./Damascus). Frostburg State maintained control of the game going into the break, 39-35.
Frostburg State held the lead in the second half until the 12:05 mark when Josh Kucenic converted a layup to give the advantage to Pitt-Greensburg, 49-48. The lead would be short lived as junior Busha Koffa (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) hit a layup to give the advantage back to Frostburg State, 50-49. FSU would hold control of the game until the 6:15 mark when the lead would go back and forth in a one minute span of time until UPG came out on top at 5:05 off a layup from Anthony Papini, 62-61. Pitt-Greensburg held the lead until the final buzzer, 78-74.
The lead changed hands a total of nine times through the 40 minutes of play. Though Pitt-Greensburg came out on top, Frostburg State contolled points off turnovers (30-12), second chance points (19-15) and bench points (28-15).
Sefcik and Koffa led Frostburg State putting up 14 points each while Anderson and Taylor followed closely behind with 12 points each. Taylor led FSU's rebounders pulling down eight boards. UPG's Rashad Davison led all scores putting up 19 points with David Palmer closely behind with 18 points and 14 boards.
Frostburg State returns to action on Saturday, January 16 when it travels to Hilbert at 3:00 pm.
