Greg Bistany (Greenbelt, Md./St. John's College), junior
Mike Pistorio (Bel Air, Md./Harford Tech) and freshman
Brian Davis (Rockville, Md./Wootton) each had a goal as Frostburg State held off Bethany 3-2 in the season opener for both teams, Wednesday.

Bethany (0-1) took the lead early on sophomore Cameron Ward' s goal in the 11th minute, the team's only shot in the first half. The Bobcats answered back with a goal from Pistorio, his first of the season at 38:21. Davis then quickly found the net with a goal of his own coming off an assist from senior
Sean Jones (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) to end the half 2-1.
The Bobcats led the shooting 10-1 going into halftime.
The Bison opened the second half with a goal from sophomore Robel Asheber to tie the score 2-2. FSU again answered with a header from Bistany off an assist from junior
Raul Diaz (Clarksburg, Md./Damascus (Montgomery)) to take the lead once and for all 3-2.
The Bobcat's continued their strong defence into the second half holding the Bison to only four shots. FSU outshout Bethany 21-5 in the game.
Junior
Stephen Cavallo (Charlotte, N.C./East Lincoln (Warren Wilson)) earned his first win in goal for the Bobcats playing all 90 minutes.
FSU travels to the Alervnia Tournament in Radnor, Pa. to take on Alvernia on Friday at 2:30 pm.
