WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Frostburg State Volleyball team swept non-conference opponent McDaniel, 3-0, for its eighth-straight win and improved its record to 10-1 on the season, Wednesday evening.
The Bobcats defeated McDaniel (5-4) with game scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-20.
Senior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) smashed 18 kills and junior
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) posted eight. Winterling also recorded six service aces and four digs while Stephens had 13 digs and two blocks.
Sophomore
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) led in assists with 18 and senior
Lacie Johnson (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) had seven.
Junior
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) posted five digs, three service aces and three kills and senior
Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) had two blocks in the win for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats are back on the court at the Carnegie Mellon Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pa. September 18 when they take on Point Park on 2:00 pm.
