HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior
Caryn Wright (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) posted a double-double and netted a season-high of 25 points as the Frostburg State women's basketball team defeated non-conference opponent Juniata, 72-68, Friday evening.

FSU (7-2) shot a season-high of 52.8 percent (28-of-53) from within the paint while JC (4-4) only shot 33.3 percent (22-of-66).
Wright led the Bobcats with 25 points followed by senior
Brittany James (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) with 12 and juniors
Elizabeth Carrington (Clinton, Md./Oxon Hill) and
Lisa Byer (Johnstown, Pa./Conemaugh (Allegany College)) each with 11. Wright also pulled down a game-high 17 boards in the win over Juniata.
FSU jumped an early lead over the Eagles and pushed its lead to nine-points with 9:53 remaining in the half after Carrington netted a layup, 21-12. Juniata fought back to tie the game after a three pointer from Ashton Bankos with just over five minutes left to play, 25-25, however the Bobcats pulled away from the Eagles and led by five going into the break, 37-32.
Frostburg State continued to hold its lead over JC in second half play until the 13th minute when Paige Robertson hit a three pointer to give the Eagles a one-point advantage over the Bobcats, 58-57.
The two teams traded points until FSU went on a six-point scoring run behind a three pointer from Byer to give the Bobcats a four-point advantage with 2:37 remaining in play, 65-61.
Frostburg State pushed its lead to as much as six points in the remaining minutes of the game but in the last ten seconds of the game Bankos netted a layup to give the end score of 72-68.
Leading the scoring for the Eagles was Natalie Glinsky with 15 points followed by Robertson with 14. Kelly Rotan pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds for Juniata in the loss.
Frostburg State returns to action at home against Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent La Roche on Monday, December 21st at 7:00 pm.
