Swimming Defeated By West Virginia Wesleyan; Harding Captures Three First-Place Finishes

FROSTBURG, Md. - Sophomore Arielle Harding (Damascus, Md./Good Counsel) had three individual first-place finishes as the Frosturg State men's and women's swimming teams were defeated by non-conference opponent West Virginia Wesleyan College, Saturday afternoon. 

Results

The FSU men's squad lost to the WVW men 172-88 and the Frostburg State women fell 147-84.

Harding captured first-place in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:18.90), the 200-meter breaststroke (2:53.92) and the 200-meter individual medley (2:41.25) to led the Frostburg State women's team.

Freshman Alix Bunten (Herndon, Va./Herndon) placed second in the 800-meter freestyle (10:54.19), the 200-meter butterfly (2:53.09) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:16.91) for FSU.

In the 400-meter freestyle, freshman Jessica Rice (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) finished second with a time of 5:41.72 while freshman Samantha Mulvey (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) captured second in the 200-meter backstroke (3:04.06).

Freshman Reed Brown (Silver Spring, Md./Sherwood) had the only first-place finish for the Frostburg State men's squad in the 200-meter breaststroke when he touched the wall with a time of 2:54.53.

In the 800-meter freestyle, senior Jack Hudson (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) placed second with a time of 9:46.00 and in the 100-meter breaststroke freshman Caleb Stair (Hyndman, Pa./Hyndman) finished second for FSU with a time of 1:14.24.

Freshman Trevor Kozlow (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) captured second in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:27.24.

In the 200-meter medley relay, Kozlow and Stair joined by senior Josh Green (New Market, Md./Linganore) and junior Sean Samakow (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) placed second with a time of 1:59.31.

The Bobcats are back in the pool at home tomorrow, November 8 when the women's squad takes on Sweet Briar for a 2:00 pm matchup.
