FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men's soccer team used every second of the clock on its way to a 2-0 victory over Albright, Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.
The 80 minutes of the contest went by with very few threats towards either goal as both teams played exceptional defense.
The Bobcats were finally able to break the Albright defense in the 83rd minute as junior
Steven Jacobsen (Waldorf, Md. / West Lake) passed the ball out of the zone to classmate
Sean Jones (Pasadena, Md. / Severna Park) who pulled the trigger on a long shot that found its way to the net in the upper right corner. FSU wasn't finished and as fast as the teams could run down the field senior
Adam Gracia (Rockville, Md. / Thomas Wootton) netted the clinching goal.
Jones was credited with the assist on Gracia's goal which came only 31 seconds after scoring himself.
FSU outshot the Lions 12-7 and Frostburg State goalkeeper senior
Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) had two saves in the win, while AC keeper Wendell Hannaford had a busy day registering five saves.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday, September 9 on the road against Waynesburg at 6:30.
