FROSTBURG, Md. - Junior
Ricky Marchant (Rockville, Md/Walter Johnson) scored two goals to lead the Frostburg State men's soccer team past Bethany College, 4-1, on Wednesday evening.
Frostburg State (2-1) came out strong against BC (0-3) with an early goal from senior
Adam Gracia (Rockville, Md./Thomas Wootton) at the 8:13 mark. On a penalty kick 18 minutes later, sophomore
Andres Vega (Potomac, Md./Wootton) netted his second goal of the season, giving the Bobcats a two-point advantage over the Bison.
With under 11 minutes left in the half, Marchant scored his first goal off a pass from junior
Sean Jones (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) to end the scoring in the first half. Marchant's other goal came off an assist from Gracia at 55:21.
The Bison's only goal came from Cameron Ward off an assist from Andrew McPherson at the 60:35 mark to give the final score of 4-1.
FSU outshot BC 16-13 and Frostburg State goalkeeper senior
Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) had three saves in the win while Chad Perry had four.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday, September 6 against Albright at Bobcat Stadium at 2:00 pm .
