FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men's and women's swimming and diving teams were defeated by both Wheeling Jesuit and Fairmont State University at the teams' first home swim meet, on Friday evening.

For the women, Fairmont State won against FSU (67-52) and WJU (71-46). The Bobcat women also fell to the Cardinal women by a score of 61-56. On the men's side, Wheeling Jesuit defeated the Falcons (74-48) and the Bobcats (100-38). The FSU men were defeated by Fairmont State with scores of 76-61.
Freshman
Arielle Harding (Damascus, Md./Good Counsel) led the women's squad with two individual wins on the day. Harding placed first in the 200-meter freestyle (2:22.57) and 100-meter breaststroke (1:20.75). She also finished second in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:40.16.
In the 100-meter freestyle, junior
Thirza Roberto (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) also captured an individual win with a time of 1:05.78. Roberto also picked up a third-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke (1:13.25).
Senior
Michelle Nash (Columbia, Md/Hammond) placed second in the 200-meter butterfly (2:53.86) and third in the 100-meter butterfly (1:19.43).
In the 200-meter breaststroke, freshman
Hannah Seay (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) finished second place with a time of 3:22.37. Seay also captured a third-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle (11:53.60) and 400-meter freestyle (5:52.45).
On the men's side, sophomore Peter Lostcitto (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) captured a first-place finish in second 1-meter diving (171.15), while placing second in the first round of 1-meter diving (148.20). Classmate
Mike Ashton (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) finished first in the first round of 1-meter diving (159.50) and second in the other round of 1-meter diving (122.90).
Sophomore Charlie Swartz (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) captured first place in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 25.85. Swartz also placed third in the 100-meter freestyle (1:00.08).
Sophomore
Bill Ford (Towson, Md./Calvert Hall) finished third in both the 800-meter freestyle (10:15.00) and the 400-meter freestyle (4:53.57).
The Bobcats are back in the pool against Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend November 22 at 1:00 pm.
