FROSTBURG, Md. - Gary Boughton netted the game's only goal in the 83rd minute to lift Medaille past Frostburg State 1-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference men's soccer action, on a chilly Saturday night at Bobcat Stadium.
The Bobcats, who entered the game ranked ninth in the Mid-Atlantic region, have their five-game winning streak come to end in the loss and are now 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the AMCC. The Mavericks are now 7-5 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 3-0.
Medaille led the game in shots 13-3, including a 7-1 in the first half edge. Despite the advantage, the Mavs had only five shots on goal including Boughton's game winner. Frostburg State keeper
Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) made four saves to keep the Bobcats in the game.
