ALTOONA, Pa. - Junior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) moved into second place in all-time school history after posting 15 kills as the Frostburg State volleyball team swept Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Altoona, 3-0, Wednesday evening.
Frostburg State (26-5, 7-1) defeated PSA (8-17, 5-3) by game scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-10.
Winterling, who now has 1,563 kills, surpassed Lauren Petrick (1,551) for second place and now needs 457 to become the school's all-time leader. Winterling also had five digs and three service aces.
Junior
Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) and sophomore
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md. /Southern Garrett) each posted seven kills. Stephens had nine digs, two blocks and one service ace while Wassell had one block.
Sophomore
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) filled up the box score with eight digs, six kills, one block and one service ace.
Freshman
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) handed out 32 assists while sophomore
Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) chipped in six digs.
The Bobcats return to action in Bobcat Arena when they host AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford, November 1st at 3:00 pm.
