PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Frostburg State volleyball team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent La Roche College with scores of 25-9, 25-10 and 25-5, Wednesday evening.
Frostburg State has an overall record of 23-4 and a conference record of 4-0.
Junior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) led the squad in kills with 16 followed by sophomore
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md. /Southern Garrett) with seven and junior
Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) with five. Winterling also posted four service aces and three digs while Stephens chipped in four digs.
Sophomores
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) and
Brittany McVearry (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) each had five service aces in the win over the Redhawks. Thomas led in digs with ten while McVearry had three.
Freshman
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Bobcats in assists handing out 23 while freshman
Sabrina Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) and junior
Jennifer Stiffler (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) each posted one block.
The Bobcats are back in action October 18 at 1:00 pm at AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend, who also remains undefeated in conference play.
