HAMBURG, N.Y.- A second half goal was all the offense the Frostburg State men's soccer team would need as it held on for a 1-0 victory over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Hilbert, Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats (10-3, 4-1) were silent until junior
Sean Jones (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) found the back of the net on a free kick at the 51:39 mark. The goal was Jones' fifth of the season and first game winner this year.
Hilbert (3-9, 1-4) managed just five total shots in the contest as FSU goalkeeper
Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) saved the Hawks one shot on goal. Frostburg State outshot HC 21-5 for the game, but Hilbert keeper Scott Walker was able to register 10 saves to keep the game close.
FSU returns to action on the road for an AMCC contest at Penn State Altoona on October 14 at 7:00 pm.
