STEVENSON, Md. - It was another record setting performance for three Frostburg State players despite the fact that FSU suffered a 3-2 setback to Villa Julie, Wednesday evening, in women's volleyball action.
The Bobcats (9-6) fell in game one 34-32 but answered by winning the next two games 31-29 and 30-20, respectively.
The Mustangs would pull off the comeback victory after winning game four, 30-26, and game five, 15-12.
Sophomore
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) captured another spot on the FSU all-time single match record list as her team-high 28 kills landed her sixth in school history.
Freshman
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) posted a double-double for the second-consecutive match with a season-high 18 kills and 17 digs. She also tossed in three service aces. Freshman
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) was third on the team with 16 kills.
Senior
Jenny Wheaton (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) also left her mark on the single-match record book as she registered the eighth-best performance in shool history, handing out 59 assists.
Defensively, freshman
Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) moved into the eighth spot in the single match list with 26 digs and two service aces.
FSU is back in action on Saturday when it hosts Medaille and Washington & Jefferson in a trimatch starting at 11:00 am.
