FROSTBURG, Md. - Four different players scored goals as Frostburg State rolled by Hilbert, 5-0, in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference men's soccer action, Saturday at Bobcat Stadium.
The Bobcat (6-5-1, 2-1-1) offense dominated possession in the first half firing 11 shots while holding the Hawks to none. Hilbert (1-8-2, 0-4) keeper Eric Davies kept the Frostburg State offense off the board with four saves, but was unable to avoid an own goal that accounted for the only score of the half.
The second half was the same story as the Bobcats outshot Hilbert 14-2, but this time FSU was able to find the net with four shots. Sophomores
Greg Bistany (Greenbelt, Md./St. John's College) and
Alex Super (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) along with freshman
Joe DiCicco (Cape May Courthouse, N.J./Middle Township) each added their first goals of the season in the win.
Bistany opened the offensive output for FSU with a goal in the 65th minute off a pass from freshman
Andres Vega (Potomac, Md./Wootton). Junior
Adam Gracia (Rockville, Md./Thomas Wootton) provided the second score of the afternoon with his fourth goal of the season at the 69:03 mark.
Super then scored at 74:57 off an assist from Gracia while DiCicco scored an unassisted goal in the 87th minute.
Frostburg State returns to action on Tuesday, October 9 at home against Penn State Altoona at 7:00 pm.
