Men's Soccer Advances to AMCC Semifinals for Sixth-Straight Year

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Junior Adam Gracia (Rockville, Md./Thomas Wootton) scored the games only goal 5:30 into action to give Frostburg State a 1-0 win over La Roche in the opening round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament, Saturday afternoon.

With the win, FSU (10-7-1) punched its ticket to the AMCC semifinals for the sixth-consecutive year and will travel to top seeded Medaille on Wednesday Oct. 31. Frostburg State has now won four-straight games including three shutouts during that stretch

"We're happy to get out with a win," said head coach Keith Byrnes. "We didn't play our best soccer but we played hard and well enough to create opportunities. Gregg Laskow and Greg Bistany really played well for us and kept our team in the game."

Senior Kenny Dotter (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) had the ball in the corner for the Bobcats and passed it to Gracia who hit the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season.

Despite just one goal in the game, both teams had their chances as FSU took 17 shots and LAR (11-8-1) managed 15.

Both keepers made 11 saves while junior Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) escaped with the shuout win for the Bobcats.
