PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Frostburg State volleyball team earned its first victory of the season Wednesday evening with a 3-1 win over Carlow.

The Bobcats captured game one 30-24 but dropped game two 30-26. FSU then rebounded to take games three and four, 30-18 and 30-28, respectively.

Senior Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) had a solid evening with 45 assists, 14 digs, four blocks and three service aces.

Freshman Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) led the team with 22 kills while teammate Samantha Quirin (Lovettsville, Va./Loudoun Valley) had 12. The tandem also posted three blocks apiece. Sophomore Jenny Wheaton (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) had her fifth double-digit performance of the young season with 15 digs.

The Bobcats return to action this weekend at the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic.
