GROVE CITY, Pa. — The Frostburg State men’s and women’s swimming teams wrapped up their seasons with sixth-place finishes in the final day of the Grove City Invitational Saturday.
Senior Chris Williams (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) led the way for the men with a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (47.34).
In the 1,650-yrd freestyle, senior Sean Leaman (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) was eighth (17:27.48) and senior Calvin Kiple (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) was 14th (24:14.16).
Senior Kevin Nolan took home 14th in 200-yard butterfly (2:10.03) and freshman Pat Hutchinson (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) was 16 in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.98).
The relay team of Williams, Leaman, Nolan and Hutchinson was seventh in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:27.76.
On the women’s side, sophomore Shannon Dunnigan (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) was fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 18:58.82 and classmate Shannon Hurkett (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) captured 16th in 20:50.54.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Dunnigan recorded an eighth-place finish (2:28.95) while sophomore Stephanie Deming (Clinton, Md./Oxon Hill) was 14th (3:02.53).
Freshman Mindy Yost (Glen Burnie, Md./Old Mill) took home 16th in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:35.25.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Dunnigan, Yost, junior Megan Falls (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) and freshman Michelle Nash (Columbia, Md./Hammond) captured eighth (4:07.46).
