WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The Frostburg State men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 2-1 overtime game to tournament host Lycoming, Sunday afternoon.
Jeff Kocher gave Lycoming (2-0) a 1-0 led when he scored on a rebounded shot at the 23:12 mark.
Warrior goalkeeper Ryan Humphreys made four first-half saves to preserve the 1-0 lead at intermission.
The Bobcats(0-2) remained in a 1-0 hole until the 85th minute when senior Matt Moffa (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) tied the game with his first goal of the season.
In overtime, the Bobcats came out firing as Humphreys made two more saves to keep the game tied.
Lycoming’s only overtime shot came at 98:03 when Kocher scored his second goal of the game to give the Warriors the victory.
"We played with more heart today," said Head Coach Keith Byrnes. "We showed a lot of passion with the late goal because we never quit."
Moffa, junior Steve Zoutman (Chester, N.Y./Goshen) and freshman Adam Gracia (Rockville, Md./Thomas Wootton) were all named to the All-Tournament team.
The Bobcats return to action on September 7, when they travel to Gettysburg for a contest at 7:00 pm.
