Junior quarterback Joch Volpe earned FSU Male Athlete of the Week honors after guiding the football team to a 33-31 victory over Christopher Newport, Saturday.

Volpe threw for 242 yards, completed 71.4 percent of his passes (20-of-28) and accounted for three touchdowns on the afternoon. His final touchdown toss capped an 88-yard game-winning drive in the final minutes of the fourth quarter that put FSU in the lead for good.

Volpe connected with freshman Micael Fourth for a pair of completions on the final drive, including a 13-yard touchdown strike with 46 seconds left that handed the Bobcats the win.
