YORK, Pa. – Following a standout freshman campaign, Frostburg women's lacrosse midfielder Nikki Hallikas has earned a spot on the 2017 All-Capital Athletic Conference First Team as announced by the league office, Wednesday morning.
Hallikas, one of six midfielders on the first team, burst onto the scene this spring and is third in the league in points (76) and assists (36) and she is second in draw controls (73).
A native of Pasadena, Md., Hallikas contributed 40 goals, 31 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers. She registered at least one point in all 17 games and opened her Bobcat career with two goals and seven assists in Frostburg's 21-4 win over Goucher.
She helped Frostburg pace the CAC in assists (116) and helped the attack rank fourth in goals scored (206).
The Bobcats also finished second in draw controls (254), third in ground balls (319), third in caused turnovers (144) and led the league with 208 saves.
FSU finished the season 6-11 overall earned a spot in the CAC Tournament.
