FROSTBURG, Md. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced earlier today that Frostburg State has been selected to host the 2017 ECAC Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.
 
This is the first time the Bobcats have hosted the ECAC Volleyball Championship since 1998, where the team finished the tournament in second-place. Bobcat Arena will play host to seven teams over the weekend (Nov.11-12) that include the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship.
 
The 13-team tournament field was announced earlier today after the 2017 Division III NCAA Volleyball Tournament field was announced.
 
Frostburg, Arcadia and Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham all receive first-round byes in the tournament and are the top seeds in the fourth, second and first pods, respectively.
 
Second-seeded Marymount (Va.) hosts third-seeded Rutgers-Camden in a first round pod one matchup, with the winner facing Arcadia in the quarterfinals at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
 
In pod two, No. 2 Alvernia hosts No. 3 John Jay and the winner will take-on Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham in the second-round on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
 
No. 1 McDaniel will host No. 4 Bethany (W.Va.) in pod three, while second-seeded Brandeis hosts Brooklyn with the winners meeting Saturday in the quarterfinals at 5:00 p.m.
 
No. 2 Westminster hosts No. 3 Penn State-Altoona in pod four, with the winner advancing to face Frostburg at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
