Nicole Higgins begins her first season as an assistant with the Frotburg State volleyball program in 2018.
Higgins brings a unique combination of playing, coaching and other industry experience to Frostburg after earning her bachelors of science degree in sociology from SUNY Institute of Technology in 2011.
Higgins was a four-year setter for current head coach Rebecca Fletcher at SUNYIT from 2007-10.
She also had a two year coaching stint at Utica College from 2011-13 where she was responsible for all facets of the program, including game/practice preparation, scouting, recruiting and the management of the volleyball staff and yearly budget.
Higgins arrives at Frostburg after serving in a variety of coordinator roles for Road Rebel, a global logistics and travel company in San Diego, for the past four years. Higgins helped to coordinate all sports travel for NCAA athletics teams across DI, DII and DIII in addition to ensuring that seasonal budgets were met.
She worked as the head coach for the Starlings Volleyball Club for two years from January 2016-2018 where she developed volleyball skills for her players. Higgins was the SUNYIT Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Secretary and held the title of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) SAAC Chair during her playing career.
