Casey Grasso enters her second year as an assistant coach with the Frostburg volleyball team in 2016. Last season, Grasso served as the program’s graduate assistant.
In her first season with the Bobcats she helped the team to 17 victories, the most since 2010 and the program’s fourth appearance in the CAC Tournament. FSU paced the CAC in total attacks (4,819) and digs (2,220), while finishing second in the league in digs per set (16.95), team assists (1,437), team attacks per set (36.79) and team kills (1,547).
Grasso graduated in December 2014 from Rowan University with a bachelor's degree in education. She was a member of the Profs volleyball team from 2010-13 prior to serving as a student assistant coach from the spring of 2013 through the spring of 2015.
As a student-athlete, Grasso was named Team Captain for both the 2012 and 2013 seasons, was selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Year in '13 and was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)All-Academic selection that same year. She was a four-year Dean's List student while at Rowan and was the fundraising chair for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
In 2014, she helped coach the Profs to 16 wins that included an appearance in the NJAC Championship match.
Grasso brought several years of volleyball coaching experience to Frostburg that includes two years as the club coach of the Delaware Juniors and two seasons as a coach for the Mystique Volleyball Club.
She is pursuing in master's degree in school counseling at Frostburg.
