Madelyn Manzoni enters her second season with the Frostburg women’s lacrosse team and will serve as the Bobcats’ head coach this spring.

Last season, Manzoni helped lead the Bobcats to four wins and a berth in the CAC Tournament, despite taking on four ranked opponents over the course of the season.

Summer Cavey earned All-CAC Second Team honors after collecting 72 draw controls, the third-most for an individual player in a single-season in program history. As a team, the Bobcats corralled 232 draw controls, the third-most in team history.

Manzoni was a two-year member of the women’s lacrosse team at Salisbury University and was part of two Capital Athlete Conference (CAC) championship teams. In both seasons the Sea Gulls reached an NCAA Regional Final and finished among the top ten teams in the nation. She was twice named CAC All-Academic and graduated from SU with a bachelor’s of science in elementary education in May of 2018.

Before Salisbury, Manzoni was a team captain at Dulaney High School and reached the Maryland state quarterfinals as a member of the Lions. She also competed at the club level for TLC Lacrosse.

Manzoni comes to Frostburg after spending the 2018 season as the head junior varsity coach at James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, Md. She also served as a camp counselor at the Nike Girls Lacrosse Camp at Salisbury University each of the last four summers.

She also spent three years volunteering at youth lacrosse skills clinics in Fruitland, Md. and officiated high school girl’s lacrosse for a season in Conway, S.C.

While at Frostburg, she will pursue her masters in educational leadership.
