It was announced in August (2017) by Frostburg head women’s basketball coach Carrie Saunders that Olivia Callan will serve as the program’s graduate assistant for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
Callan comes to Frostburg after a four-year playing career at Shenandoah University from 2013-17. She was a two-year starter for the Hornets and appeared in 90 games, while averaging over 5.0 points per game. She was also voted team captain for both her junior and senior seasons.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in business from SU this past May.
Last March, Callan participated in the “So You Want To Be A Coach” program through the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) in Dallas, Texas.
For the last three years, Callan has served as the Director of Sports Camps at Howard County Parks and Recreation, while last spring, she served as an intern in the Shenandoah strength and conditioning program.
