Marrysa Moyer

Marrysa Moyer begins her second season as the team’s top assistant coach in 2017-18.

Moyer was an integral part to the Bobcats turnaround in 2016-17, which saw the team post 12 wins and make their first appearance in the CAC Tournament since the 2012-13 season. Frostburg finished the 2016-17 season second in the conference in steals (11.8), third in scoring average (68.0), third in three pointers made (160), third in assists (14.4) and fourth in blocks (4.1).

Despite a rebuilding year in 2015-16 where the Bobcats finished 3-22, Moyer helped guide FSU to an appearance in the championship game at the 2015 Jim Crawley Tournament. Moyer helped develop junior transfer Kirsten Rayner, who posted nine double-double efforts and led the Bobcats with 13.4 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game, and 1.2 assists per game. Rayner shot 46.8 percent from the floor and 60.7 percent at the free throw line, and finished second in the Capital Athletic Conference with 74 offensive rebounds. Off the court, the Bobcats placed three players on the Academic All-CAC list, increasing that number from the previous season.

A 2015 graduate from Lock Haven University with a bachelor’s of science degree in sports administration and a minor in business, Moyer joins the Bobcats after a successful four-year collegiate playing career.

Moyer started her collegiate career at Mansfield University, where she spent her freshman season as a starter and was a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week selection.

After transferring to Lock Haven, Moyer had an outstanding playing career and has etched her name into the Bald Eagles’ record books. She has scored 1,109 total career points and is second all-time in rebounds per game (9.35) and offensive rebounds (243). Moyer is also second all-time in rebounds with 901, fourth in blocked shots with 70, and fifth in free throws made with 286 in her three years at Lock Haven. As a three-year starter at LHU, she was named a Second Team All-PSAC selection.

Prior to her collegiate career, Moyer was a four-year starter at Altoona Area High School, where she was a team captain and scored over 1,000 career points.

Moyer is currently pursuing a master’s in business administration at Frostburg State.
