Shanel Stott

Shanel Stott begins her first year as a Graduate Assistant Coach with the Frostburg State Softball program, bringing a dynamic combination of athletic achievement and academic excellence to her new role. As a former standout Division I athlete at UMBC, Shanel was an integral part of a program that secured three consecutive conference championships. Her exceptional play at second base earned her spots on the America East Second Team All-Conference and the America East All-Championship Team in 2023.

Throughout her collegiate career, Shanel’s leadership and performance were pivotal to her team's success, highlighted by her consistent contributions both offensively and defensively. Prior to her collegiate achievements, she excelled at Allegany High School, where she led her team to a state championship and was named the Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Year in 2019.

Off the field, Shanel has demonstrated an impressive academic track record. She holds dual undergraduate degrees—a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Criminal Justice with a focus on Cybercrime Investigation and has plans to further her education with a Master’s in Business Administration.

A native of Cumberland, Maryland, Shanel remains rooted in her community and brings her passion for the game and her academic pursuits to the Frostburg program. She is eager to share her experience, knowledge, and work ethic with the team as they pursue continued success on the field.
