Guy Robertson enters his first season as Frostburg State Head Softball Coach in 2026 in addition to his role asĀ Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, which he has held since 2019.Ā

He oversees all programs relating to the cultivation of external relationships and revenue streams for the athletic department and he will be responsible for building long and short-term strategies for growing support of athletics in conjunction with the Director of Athletics and the VP of Advancement.

Robertson is responsible for developing, maintaining and growing the athletic department's sponsorship agreements for static, digital, and print media for intercollegiate athletics.
Robertson coached the Bobcat baseball team to a 308-183-1 (.627) overall record through a dozen seasons, making him the second-winningest coach in program history. Frostburg State captured Capital Athletic Conference championships in 2011 and 2015 and made three trips to the NCAA Tournament.

In 2015, the Frostburg State program reached new heights with CAC and NCAA Mideast Regional championships. The Bobcats reached the NCAA World Series for the first time in school history. FSU won a pair of games at the NCAA World Series, finished with a school and conference record 43 wins and finished No. 2 in the country in both major national polls.

Robertson, a three-time conference Coach of the Year, mentored 53 all-conference selections and eight All-Americans. In 2011, pitcher Greg Ross was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 18th round of the MLB draft.

As an Assistant AD, Robertson served as Frostburg's Compliance Director and oversaw the operations and setup of the Regents Cup Game, the football program's annual battle with in-state rival Salisbury.

A native of Westminster, Md., Robertson played four years of baseball at Elon where he earned his bachelorās degree in sports management in 1999. He later earned his masters of science in physical education and exercise science from McDaniel in December of 2003.

He and his wife, the former Lisa Bumgarner, are the proud parents of Alexandra and Gabriella.
