Zbig Kepa

Zbig Kepa is entering his first season with the Frostburg football program in 2018 and he will work this the quarterbacks this fall.

Kepa arrives at Frostburg after serving as the offensive coordinator at The Apprentice School for the last four seasons. Kepa’s offense averaged over 300 yards per game in three of his four seasons

In 2013, Kepa was the defensive line coach at Christopher Newport University and helped the defense lead the USA South Conference in total defense (321.1 ypg), points per game allowed (12.7) and rushing defense (99.7). The Captains won eight games, including four straight to close the season.

Kepa’s impressive career took off at William & Mary after starting there in 1984 and serving as the offensive coordinator for the final 20 years. W&M’s offense consistently averaged 400 yards and 30 points per game. Kepa’s 1996 offense led the Yankee Conference in total offense, while the 1993 unit finished sixth in the nation in total yards with the second-highest total in school history.

During his time on the sideline, the Tribe made 10 trips to the NCAA I-AA Playoffs and advanced to the semifinals in both 2004 and 2009.

Kepa graduated from St. Joseph’s College (Ind.) with his bachelor’s degree in physical education and health in 1979. He earned his master’s degree from Purdue in 1981 in health, physical education and recreation.

He started his coaching career in 1976 as a student assistant coach at St. Joseph’s assisting with the defensive line and defensive backs. Kepa coached at Fenwick High School in Chicago in 1982 and returned to St. Joseph’s in 1983 as an offensive assistant before joining the William & Mary staff in ’84.
