Sam Daniels enters his second season as a member of the Frostburg State football coaching staff in 2015 and will continue to work with the defensive line.
 
Last fall, the Bobcats finished fifth in the Empire 8 with 24 sacks (187 yds) and third in the league in sacks per game (2.4). Frostburg finished third in the conference in tackles for loss per game (6.6) after finishing the season with 65 tackles for loss (309 yds).
 
Daniels came to FSU after coaching at the Apprentice School in Newport News, Va. for two seasons. In 2013, Daniels served as the defensive coordinator, defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. The Builders registered 12 sacks, recovered 10 fumbles and picked off seven passes.
 
In 2012, Daniels served as the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for Apprentice. The Builders posted 14 sacks, recovered 15 fumbles and intercepted eight passes.
 
Daniels was a two-time All-American and four-year member of the James Madison University football team. In his final two years, Daniels was a two-time Team Captain, two-time All-CAA defensive line honoree and two-time All-American. Over his final two seasons, he finished with 108 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss with 10.5 sacks. As a senior, he was the Dukes’ Defensive MVP and Lineman of the Year.
