Ben Crowder is entering his fifth year as an assistant coach with the Frostburg State University football team in 2014. Crowder assisted with the linebackers in 2013, but has worked with both the tight ends and offensive line during his tenure.
Last season, the Frostburg defensive unit recovered 13 fumbles, picked off three passes and posted 19 sacks. Three Frostburg defensive players earned All-Empire 8 honors, including 2014 returners Rowan Pinkett and Roland Kamara.
Crowder was a four-year member and three-year starter for the Bobcats from 2006-2009. He was a three-time All-Atlantic Central Football Conference selection at center and was twice named to the league’s first team. He started 28 consecutive games over the final three years of his career.
In May 2010, Crowder graduated with a dual degree in physics and sociology and is currently pursuing his MBA.
