Anthony Williams enters his second season as an assistant for the Frostburg State baseball team where he will work primarily with Bobcat hitters and infielders.
In his first season with the team, Williams helped the team finish third in the AMCC in runs (296), homeruns (28) walks (170) and stolen bases and fourth in hits (382) and triples (13). The Bobcats also led the league in fielding percentage (.955) and allowed the second lowest number of stolen bases in the conference (34).
Williams arrived at Frostburg State after completing an internship with the Bowie Baysox "AA" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles and working with the Baseball Factory, a recruiting service for high school players. Williams also served as a part-time assistant at Northeast High School and as an instructor at the B.A.T.T. Academy.
Williams, who played under Coach Robertson at NCAA Division I Coppin State in 2005 and set the school record for wins in a season, started his playing career at Slippery Rock University as a middle infielder in 2004.
A native of Pasadena, Maryland and 2003 graduate of Northeast High School, he helped lead the Eagles baseball team to the 2001 3A Maryland State Championship.
Williams graduated from Slippery Rock University in May of 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management and is currently working on his Master's degree in business administration.
