Thank you for inquiring about the Frostburg State University men's basketball program.
Frostburg State University is a dynamic and diverse state university with over 5,000 students. We have excellent facilities for all of our athletic teams and Bobcats Arena, located in the Cordts Physical Education Center, seats 3,800 fans for our home basketball games. The FSU campus is located in a beautiful environment in the town of Frostburg in the mountains of western Maryland. We have a wide array of academic offerings, which include computer science, engineering, liberal arts, teacher education and business management.
The goals of the Frostburg State basketball program are quite simple. First, we want to be the best team in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Second, we want to earn a bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Third, we want to win a Division III National Championship.
In order for us to reach our goals, we need dedicated student-athletes who are committed to excellence. We want young men in our basketball program who want to be good citizens, good students and good basketball players. Above all else, we want people on our team who are coachable and willing to work to be the best in everything they do.
Please be aware that we compete at the NCAA Division III level, and therefore we do not offer athletic scholarships. We do have financial aid assistance available based on need. There are also academic scholarship opportunities available for those applicants who qualify. There is information available from the admissions and financial aid offices about these various programs. We are on rolling admissions and an applicant will be notified of his acceptance status as soon as the FSU admissions office has received all the necessary information.
