Soccer Skills Development
for Allegany and Garrett counties
Purpose – RTP is to promote player development through training and playing opportunities. The training sessions will work on improving the technical ability (control, passing, shooting, dribbling) and creativity of the individual player. They will also spend time on small sided tactics and repetition such as 1v1, 1v2, 2v2, and 3v3. This year’s program will add a team a focus and the players will participate in the Mid-Atlantic Tournament in June to close the season.
Who is eligible - The core age groups for the 2009 RTP season are: U-10, U-12 and U-14. The corresponding birthdates would be kids born in 1994 (Aug-Dec), 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 (Jan-Jul). All players who are residents of Maryland and registered with MSYSA through one of its affiliated organizations are eligible, provided they are not members of an MSYSA Olympic Development Program player pool.
Players who also reside in the bordering counties of West Virginia and Pennsylvania will be eligible. Since the RTP is a "developmental" program, players may be moved to an older age group when it is determined to be advantageous to a particular player's development.
Registration & Fees - There is a pre-registration fee for the introductory night of $20 per player.

Pre-registering is the preferred method, but walk-on registrations will be accepted on-site of the first identification night, but will cost $30. For players that continue with the program the fee will be $200. The fee will cover the cost of an Adidas uniform kit (jersey, shorts and socks), 8 training sessions, tournament registration, coach’s salaries, and administrative costs.
