Frostburg State Cheerleading
The Frostburg State University Cheerleaders cheer at Home Football games, Men's and Women's Home Basketball games, and will also travel to one away Football game (Regents Cup vs. Salisbury). In addition to these games, the cheerleaders will make many appearances of behalf of the Department of Athletics, Frostburg State University and the Allegany County community. Additionally, the cheerleaders support other athletic programs. They also represent the University during community service events in Frostburg and surrounding cities.
The Frostburg State Cheerleaders are a co-ed squad of athletic and energetic students. The current membership includes 12 females and one male. The team is working to expand that number for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year.
New for 2009 – 2010…
- The FSU cheerleaders will attend UCA College Cheer Camp at the University of Scranton in August of 2009
- The implementation of a strength and conditioning program in order to gain strength, build stamina, and prevent injuries
- FSU Cheerleaders will become competitive as of 2009
- The Frostburg State University Cheer Team hopes to compete nationally in 2010 at the UCA College Nationals in Orlando, FL.
Frostburg State Cheerleading has been undergoing an extensive re-structuring with head coach Becki Carter. As the new coach in 2008, Coach Carter has brought a new outlook to the FSU Cheerleaders. Safety has become a main focus with FSU Cheerleading and Coach Carter is a certified member of AACCA.
Frostburg State Cheerleaders take pride in their program and strive each year to become a better team.
