CLINTON, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Cross Country team opened their 2026 season at the RMU Colonial Invitational on Friday morning, placing ninth out of ten teams.

With the meet consisting of teams across all three NCAA divisions, FSU placed between fellow MEC members West Virginia Wesleyan and Wheeling in eighth and tenth, respectively. Senior Ray Gibson was the first to cross the line for the Bobcats, placing 58
th overall and 49
th among scoring runners at 28:46.98. Close behind him was sophomore Connor McIntyre (28:53.54) and senior Gage Osborne (28:53.85) in 68
th and 69
th, respectively.

Junior Ben Saltysiak placed next at 29:17.00, followed by freshmen Dusty Long Jr. (30:48.65) and Tyler Berry (30:56.12). Closing out the meet, junior Ethan McKee was the last scoring runner for Frostburg at 32:00.44, with senior Matthew Brennan rounding out the results at 32:32.34.
