Women's Wrestling Finishes Inaugural Season at NCWWC National Tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling team concluded their season at the NCWWC National Championships on Friday.

In their first-ever season at the collegiate level, freshmen Lillie Costilla and Jada Fowler represented FSU in the Midwest, becoming the program's inaugural athletes to complete at the national level.

At 123 lbs, Fowler lost her opening round by tech fall to eventual quarterfinalist Nichole Moore from McKendree, placing her in the consolation bracket. She narrowly missed out on a chance of advancing, coming up just shy in an 8-5 decision to bring her tournament to a close.

In the 130 lb bracket, Costilla received a bye into round two, but also dropped her match with a tech fall to semifinalist Maria Dilone from King. During the consolation round, she would lose again by tech fall to end the Bobcats' season.
