BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Standout center back Cat Smith was named the MEC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, as announced by the league office. 

At the MD Soccerplex this past weekend, Smith helped the Bobcats go 2-0 with wins over Georgian Court and Shippensburg. She played all 180 minutes in the two contests while helping the defense allow just five shots and one goal across both games. Smith also netted the game-winning goal against Shippensburg, her first of the season.
