LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Over 8,200 collegiate student-athletes captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2022-23 academic year, as announced on Tuesday, with the Frostburg State Softball team placing 17 players on the list. 

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. Out of 99 listed Division II schools, Frostburg tied with Gannon University for the 24th best GPA in the nation. During the process, senior Briannna Powell, juniors Ellie Buckheit, Ryann Darling, Katie Ernst, Bri Munday, Sierra Sanderson, and Sydney Theobald, sophomores Hanna Binek, Kate Chapple, Larua Gilford, Jamie Roberts, Cristina Sommerkamp, and Adriana Wimmer, and freshmen Ashlynn Routzahn, Gracie Nelson, Arden Miller and Ally Myers were all named NFCA All-American Academic Scholars.
