BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Standout forward Emilee Weakley was announced as the Mountain East Conference Freshman of the Year, as well as earning a spot on the All-MEC First Team, the league announced on Monday.
Weakley led all scorers during the regular season at 25.5 points per game, almost six more than the next closest average, while also finishing second in the conference at 10.4 rebounds per game. She set FSU's single-season points record, which currently sits at 715 as the third-most in a season in MEC history as well.
During the season, she set the conference and program record for points in a single game, putting up 47 against West Liberty in an overtime win. Weakley also leads the team in steals (42), while being second in three-pointers made (41) and three-point percentage (31.8%). She has also been named the MEC Player of the Week on four occasions.
