BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Frostburg Softball finished atop the preseason MEC North Division poll, as announced by the league office after a vote by the league's coaches. 

After finishing second in its inaugural conference season and sharing the North title with West Liberty last season, the Bobcats received 61 points and six first-place votes during preseason balloting to lead the division.

The team brings back nearly its full roster from last season, including reigning Freshman of the Year and First Team All-MEC selection Jamie Roberts and Second Team All-MEC honorees Katie Chapple, Katie Ernst, and Laura Gilford.
