FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Director of Strength & Conditioning/Fitness Kyle Linhart has announced the addition of Joe Sharp as the Associate Director of Fitness, Strength & Conditioning.
"I look forward to re-joining the Bobcats! As an alumnus, I've followed the growth and success of Frostburg Athletics over the years and jumped at the opportunity to return to FSU. There is an excellent Strength and Conditioning program in place, and I'm honored to be a part of it" Sharp said.
"We're extremely excited to welcome Joe home to Frostburg and back into our program. His background, experience, and wealth of knowledge is going to be an incredible asset to the campus and our student athletes" Linhart said.
Sharp most recently was the head strength and condition coach at Mount St. Mary's since the start of 2020 and the assistant coach the two years prior. At The Mount he worked closely with both basketball and lacrosse programs, men's soccer, softball, and baseball. Sharp also had a stint with Prairie View A&M as an assistant on the Strength and Conditioning staff along with a graduate assistant position with University of Texas working with Olympic sports.
Sharp former assistant on the strength staff was also a Frostburg Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year recipient, member of the Bobcat football team and 2012 graduate. He also holds a master's in sport science and nutrition from the University of Texas and a certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Sharp received his bachelors degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Frostburg State in 2012 and would receive a masters degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Sports Science and Nutrition in 2014.
