FROSTBURG, Md - The Frostburg State Men's Basketball Team defeated #16/#17 Fairmont State at Bobcat Arena by a score of 80-75 on Senior Day.
The Bobcats trailed at the half 47-32, but the second half would be a different story. Despite shooting 28% from the field in the first half, Frostburg State would flip the script and shoot 58% from the field in the second. In addition to this, Frostburg would shoot 41% from three point range adding to the second half push.
Fairmont State would struggle shooting in the second half, posting 36% from the field, while only receiving two trips to the line and making one. The Bobcat defense would hold the Fighting Falcons to only 11 total makes in the second half to claw back from the deficit.
The seniors on the roster of Torrin Stephens, Sean Patterson, Jihar Williams and Canaan Bartley combined to register 49 of the 80 for the Bobcats showing just how important they have been to the program for the entirety of their careers. In addition to that, junior Agyei Edwards would add 17 points.
Frostburg State would finish the season with an 8-20 record, (6-16 MEC) while Fairmont State would fall to 21-6 (16-6 MEC) and will return to action Sunday February 27 when they return home to close out the season at home vs Carlow.
