SALEM, W. Va.- Freshman Lydia Nebiolo broke her own school record in the 1000-yard freestyle as the women's swimming team swept Salem and Alderson Broaddus in their Saturday tri-meet. The Bobcats defeated the Tigers 142.50-100.50 and beat the Battlers 181-10. Â
Â
Nebiolo also picked up victories in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events and joined with freshman Kendall Hooper and sophomores Liz Perry and Francesca Crevoiserat to win the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Â
Hooper would also win the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events and the 200-yard freestyle, while Perry finished in a rare tie for first place in the 100-yard freestyle and earned second behind both Hooper in the 100-yard butterfly and Nebiolo in the 100-yard backstroke.
Â
Freshman Madison Kauffman picked up the final victory for the Bobcats, going 1-2 in the 500-yard freestyle with sophomore Summer Mustandrea, as Mustandrea also earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle behind Hooper.
Â
With the win, the women improve to 8-1 overall and will return to the pool on Saturday, January 29 at 1 p.m. in their final home meet of the season. For information and updates stay tuned at frostburgsports.com.Â
