FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team handled business Thursday afternoon, defeating the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats by a final score of 29-1. Senior Stephanie King led the Bobcats scoring eight goals and two assists, the last goal being the 100
th of her career, while sophomore Cammie Schniedwind recorded five goals and five assists in the win.

The victory moves Frostburg to 8-4 on the season, while WVWC falls to 0-9.

Frostburg quickly started the scoring as first-year Anna Kearney netted a goal two minutes in on a free position to take a 1-0 lead. Senior Lindsay Kohlmann scored off an assist from Schniedwind to increase the lead to 2-0. At the 27:37 mark, King netted her first goal of the game on a free position to take a 3-0 lead. 20 seconds later, Scniedwind scored off an assist from Kohlmann to take a 4-0 lead.

Senior Summer Cavey scored her first goal of the game at the 27-minute mark on a free position to increase the lead to 5-0. Sophomore Lilly Stephens scored before Kearney scored her second of the day to take a 7-0 lead. King scored on a free position to increase the advantage to 8-0. King scored off an assist from Schniedwind before first-year Grace Bagosy netted a goal that was also assist from Schniedwind to take a 10-0 lead. The 11
th goal for Frostburg was scored by Stephens off an assist from Cavey before Cavey scored her own goal to take a 12-0 lead.

First-year Willow Walters got in the scoring column with a goal assisted by Kearney to take a 13-0 lead. King scored an unassisted goal before Scniedwind netted her own unassisted goal to take a 15-0 lead. Stephens scored before junior Lucy Baukhages scored her first goal of the game off an assist from King to make it 17-0. King scored to increase the Frostburg lead to 18-0. The visitors scored the last goal of the half to make the score 18-1 going into halftime.

Schniedwind opened the second half with back-to-back goals to take a 20-1 lead. Stephens scored before Kearney netted another goal off an assist from Stephens to take a 22-1 lead. Kohlmann netted a goal before King scored another goal off an assist from Kohlmann to take a 24-1 lead. King picked up another goal off an assist from Schniedwind to increase their lead to 25-1. Kohlmann scored before Schniedwind scored her fifth goal of the game to take a 27-1 lead. King then scored her last goal of the game, which was her 100
th of her career, to take a 28-1 lead. Walters scored the last goal of the game off an assist from Cavey to win the game 29-1.

The one goal allowed by Frostburg is the lowest amount of goals FSU the program has allowed since the 2015 season. First-year goalkeeper McKenna Shay got the win in the cage for Frostburg, registering four saves with one goal allowed.
