EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team kicked off their 2021 season with a non-conference road contest against the East Stroudsburg Warriors. FSU fell short losing to the Warriors with a final score of 20-4. The Bobcats were led by senior Summer Cavey with a goal and an assist on the afternoon.

This brings the Bobcats 0-1 and moves the Warriors to 1-0 on the season.

The Warriors went on a 6-0 scoring run in the first 19 minutes of the half before the Bobcats got on the board. First year Erin Bryce scored the first goal for the Bobcats at the 10:47 mark on a free position shot. East Stroudsburg went on a five-point scoring run to end the first half with a score of 11-1.

The Bobcats second goal of the afternoon came early in the second half by senior Summer Cavey bringing the score to 11-2 with 29:31 left to play.

The third goal came shortly after with Cavey connecting a good pass to senior Stephanie King at the 27:12 mark to make it 12-3.

The Warriors went on an 8-point scoring run until Frostburg's sophomore Lilly Stephens scored the last and final goal of the game with 58 seconds left to play.

Frostburg's first year Whitney Crosby started in goal for the Bobcats and landed nine saves while junior Emma Neff led the defense with one caused turnover and one ground ball.

The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team returns to action on Thursday, March 18
th for a home match against the Walsh (Ohio) Cavaliers. The game is set to start at 3:00 pm. For more information go to
